For Cody Bratt, the joy of photographing comes from both the narrative quality that the medium embodies and the magical creation of a unique artifact. He treats each image as though it is a love letter to the world, inspired by a need to preserve heightened emotional moments before they deteriorate and are reborn.

Introduced to photography by his father, a photoengraver, Cody pursued image making and narrative at the University of California, Berkeley where he received his degree in Rhetoric. Cody is a winner of the LensCulture Emerging Talent Award, American Photography 34 and 35, and PDN Faces Award.

Bratt is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and works as a local in New York and Los Angeles.
