Arming himself with a camera, bicycle and an adventurer’s spirit, Adam Birkan set out to photograph the world at an early age. After traveling to 34 countries in five years, Adam has settled into capturing meaningful stories in unlikely places. He brings a unique perspective to every shoot and location by immersing himself in the culture, enabling him to better appreciate both his surroundings and subjects.

Adam Birkan has been named one of Magnum’s 30 Under 30, PDN's 30 New and Emerging Photographers to Watch, American Photography 34 winner, and a PDN Photo Annual winner. Adam earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Visual Communication with an emphasis on Photojournalism from Ohio University.
